We think, why are they mad at me? Why aren’t they talking? Did I do something wrong? If we have intentional and meaningful conversations regularly, we can build relationships that encourage vulnerability and allow us to seek guidance and support when we need it most. We often assume -and place blame- when we don’t know the full story. And, since people close themselves off when they’re in pain, it becomes a deadly combination. ![]() ![]() However, if you would’ve begun the relationship with mindful relationship habits already implemented, this situation would’ve encouraged a deeper connection rather than distance. This has the potential to hurt your relationship. There is likely to be miscommunication, anger, resentment, and furthered anxiety because you don’t know why your friend is acting the way they are. And without these meaningful conversations, without engaging in a discussion that goes deeper, you may never know what your friend is going through. Some people get more quiet and reserved, others more irritable, others more depressed. Anxiety affects every person differently, but it always causes a change in behavior. Let's say you have a friend that is dealing with anxiety. Installing these mindful relationship habits early on in our lives will allow us to build a strong foundation for every start of a new relationship. And if we don’t have these deep conversations, there is no way to truly know the reasons behind the actions that others take. One thing I’ve learned is that there is a deeper meaning behind almost everything we do and say on a daily basis. If we neglect to have meaningful conversations, our relationships can begin to wither, and the more they wither, the more likely that these relationships will become damaged and eventually dissipate. Meaningful conversations have an incredibly significant impact on maintaining healthy relationships relationships that encourage rather than discourage, relationships that are permanent rather than temporary. They are key to growth, development, and overall happiness. ![]() Human connection is a significant part of our daily routine, and relationships provide us with a certain joy that nothing else seems to be able to fulfill.
